NIT Tournament 2010 Semifinals Tuesday Night

The 2010 NIT Tournament semifinals takes place Tuesday March 30 in New York City's Madison Square Garden to the delight of March Madness Men's basketball fans. The 2010 NIT Tournament schedule has one game underway at 7 PM with another at 9 PM from MSG.
The 2010 NIT semifinals has teams from Dayton, Mississippi, Rhode Island, and North Carolina scheduled to play in hopes of reaching the NIT finals.

Dayton will play Mississippi on March 30 at 7 PM EST from the famous Madison Square Garden arena in New York. At 9 PM, the second semifinals game between the University of Rhode Island and the University of North Carolina will be played.

Top Seeded Virginia Tech was eliminated by Rhode Island on Wednesday night by the score of 79-72. A strong second half by Rhode Island propelled them to victory as they outscored Virginia Tech 39-30.

Fourth seed North Carolina beat favorite UAB 60-55 in the third round of the game. The Tar Heels claimed victory with the help of Deon Thompson who scored 14 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in the victory over UAB in the NIT 2010 quarterfinals. North Carolina has an overall record of 19-16 for the current season with a losing 5-11 record in the ACC. John Henson also put in 14 points for the North Carolina Tar Heels in their victory Tuesday.

Mississippi squeezed by Texas Tech on Tuesday night with the final score 90-87. The game needed two overtimes to come to crown the winner with the first overtime keeping the score locked at 79-79. The hero of the quarterfinal game for Mississippi was Murphy Holloway who lifted the team to victory with a spectacular three point play with only three seconds left to the buzzer. Mississippi improves its record to 24 wins with just ten losses.

Number three seeded Dayton stunned top seeded Illinois 77-71 to advance to the semifinals on March 30. Dayton pulled out to a strong 38-25 first half score and won over the favorite Illinois.
